Dates for your diaries.

There are two club events you certainly won’t want to miss.

Captain v President - Centenary Day Match - Sunday 27th July.

This is on Sunday 27th July at 1pm with a BBQ to follow. Yes, this day is a continuation of our Centenary Year Celebrations and is open to all club members irrespective of whether you would like to play or to just come along to cheer the teams on.

It’s a match between the Captains team and the Presidents team with pride and bragging rights at stake!

Following the match there will be a delicious BBQ with house salads and a vegetarian BBQ option.

BBQ & Spider just £7.50 p.p.

Please add your names to the list on the clubs notice board no later than the 17th July or email

Please don’t forget as we need names for catering and for Ken and Tudor to select their teams, but please indicate if you wish to play or just spectate.

There will also be a raffle so if you can provide a raffle prize that would be much appreciated, but please no toiletries! Monies raised will go towards this years chosen charities.

Captain v President Trophy

Charity Day / Bowls 4 Fun - Sunday 31st August.

Many of you will remember how enjoyable and successful last years B4F was and this year should be no exception.

Our 2025 Charity Day supports both the Huntingtons and Stroke Charities, both very well deserving of our support.

Charity Day is on Sunday 31st August from 11am onwards but please be at the club by 10.30am for registration. There will be a BBQ and prize giving to follow the fun competition.

We will also have a grand raffle and spider with the winner of the Spider receiving a litre of whisky.

This year we will be having a 4321 team competition playing 3 sets of 6 ends with 3 or 4 in a team depending on numbers with teams moving rinks after each 6 ends. We will be playing for our new Bowls 4 Fun trophy.

You won’t want to miss this special day a highlight of our club year so please add your name to the list on the clubs notice board when it goes up later in July or email

graham.sowerby@btinternet.com or text 07971 882125 as near the time we will need to know numbers for catering purposes and to allocate teams. Please also if possible supply a suitable prize for the grand raffle, but please no toiletries!

BBQ & Spider £7.50 per person. Raffle tickets available during the day with a chance to win some great prizes.

This year the dress code is Red White & Blue but strictly NO club shirts.

There could be a prize for the most colourful outfit but for safety reasons the names of the judges will be kept secret!
