Bob Perkins Memorial Cup

On Saturday 14th September the annual Bob Perkins Memorial Cup was played for at the club in memory of a long serving and dedicated member of the club. The cup was instigated by Bob’s daughter who always felt that the bowls club was Bob’s second home.

The competition is an unusual format with teams being drawn out of the hat and each team playing the others. The winners were the team that had accumulated the most shots over the various matches played during the afternoon.

The weather on the day was excellent with everyone thoroughly enjoying the relaxed but competitive atmosphere. The overall winners of this yeas cup was a team made up of Gary and Katherine Hooper, Roger Bastin and the Club Captain Fred Martin.
